Why do you like latex so much? Here are some reasons

In my profession I cater for many fetishes, some more unusual than others (like a client who enjoyed being humiliated whilst dressed as a cheerleader). A fetish can be defined as: ‘A form of sexual desire in which gratification is linked to an abnormal degree to a particular object, item of clothing, part of the body.’

One of the most popular is latex and rubber. But what makes this such a turn on? Well dear reader, latex acts as a second skin, one that is taut, smooth, shiny, and perfect. The qualities of this second skin are suggestive of strength, invulnerability and even youth. For the onlooker, it can counter balance feelings of worry and guilt; for the wearer, it counteracts feelings of shame or insecurity. The complete opposite is skin that is loose and wrinkly (I’m sure given the amount fetishes in existence that there is one for wrinkles!).

Here are a couple of hypothetical examples:

1. A woman wearing latex or even leather may feel strong and invulnerable; her feelings of weakness are smoothed over by the material, and she can be the strong confident women she longs to be. This can also arouse any onlookers, if a powerful woman is part of their fantasy.

2. A man who has feelings of guilt about hurting others if he lost sexual control. Here, the rubber acts as a protective layer where he can explore his fetish in a ‘safe’ environment. Having a second skin that provides ‘protection’ means that ones senses are covered up, and have a numbing effect, lending itself to feelings of strength and invulnerability.

Gosh, with all this talk of skins and smoothness, I feel like I’m in a reptile house. At least none of us will get sun burn!

Now excuse me whilst I find a rock to lie on whilst wearing my tight leather corset...
