Different tonics for different Gins

As my inner circle gents know all too well, I do like to indulge in a G&T now and again (in moderation, of course), and would consider myself to be a connoisseur. Little is mentioned of which tonic water to use however. One theory is ‘old school’ tonics such as Schweppes should be matched with ‘old school gins’ such as Gordons. There are, my darlings, many alternative tonics to choose from, and a vast array of different gins to sample. Here are some delicious pairings that we could enjoy together:

Hendricks Gin – paired with Elderflower Tonic, garnished with cucumber
Martin Miller’s Westborne Strength – paired with Aromatic Tonic Water, garnished with a strawberry and black pepper
Bombay Sapphire – paired with Mediterranean Tonic, garnished with a lime wedge, lemon zest and cassia bark.
Haymans Old Tom Gin – paired with Sicilian Lemon Tonic, garnished with a lime wedge.
Plymouth Sloe Gin – paired with Sicilian Lemon Tonic, garnished with a lemon wedge.
Williams Chase Elegant Crisp Gin – paired with Elderflower Tonic, garnished with apple, lime and mint
Warner Edwards Rhubarb Gin – paired with Mediterranean Tonic, garnished with a slice of orange or a stick of rhubarb.

Plenty of options as you can see, and this is only the tip of iceberg…or stockings if you will. Different strokes for different folks…why not join me on a gin tasting experience?

Salute!
