Are you a bum man or a leg man?

Are you a bum man or a leg man?

Are you a bum man or a leg man? Here are some scientific reasons why you like what you like.

Studies have shown that men prefer women with longer than average legs, and they also favor women who have a higher leg length to body ratio. Legs represent the very core of feminine sensuality, almost like a ‘soft whisper’, compared to the ‘loud trumpet’ of more intimate parts of the female anatomy. Female gams are perceived as more suggestive, sensual, and seductive, whereas T & A (that’s tits and arse for those of you not into such crude terminology) are viewed as much more ‘in your face sexual’.

Wondrously gazing at a woman’s legs might have mostly to do with a man’s innate attraction to the sensual, rather than the more explicitly sexual.

Legs can be tantalizing—or, in some cases, taunting; with clothing, legs can be both revealed and concealed, which makes them almost uniquely empowered to allow women to tease and seduce men and inflame their imaginations. A little at a time can be revealed, then a little more…and so on. It all depends on how much the woman wants to show. Sometimes less can be more. In addition, the momentary flash of legs through a slit skirt while a woman is in stride or crossing her legs can burn a potent image into a receptive man’s mind . . . partly because they suggest sexual availability. A woman’s legs can at once please . . . and tease. Images of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct are flitting into my mind. High heeled shoes and hosiery enhance legs, drawing the male eyes to them, emphasizing the shape of them.

In fact, research shows that slipping on a pair of high heels (Louboutins in my case) enhances a women’s sexuality in men’s eyes by 20%!

For you arse lovers, things are a little different it would seem, almost primeval. The appeal of a female rear end goes back in evolution to a time when face to face sex wasn’t standard. Females, like a lot of primates today, used their rear ends to send sexy signals. Men evolved to adore women with thin waists and curvy hips, the classic hour glass shape, which signalled youth and fertility. Equally, women with a curved spin (at 45% to be precise) were seen as better mating partners as they can redistribute the extra body mass during pregnancy, and handle multiple pregnancies without injury. Men may be focusing attention on the buttocks whilst subconsciously obtaining information about the spine. How insightful!
